What's these wires for?

Hi.
I'm new here, just bought a 2005 Vmax (#397/2000) but I had a 1986 20 years ago. Always wanted a Vmax again.
I took off the "tank" cover. Just by the fuse box there are 2 unused wires with a plug for something. Clearly original installation...Puzzles me...
Does anybody know what these wires are for?:ummm:

The wires are black and red.

That is most definetely not a stock wire. Follow the wire loom (it looks like it is heading back over the heat shield) and see where it's going.

You're right. I followed the loom and the wires were just hotwired to the battery.

It probably was a home pigtail to plug in a trickle charger.
