Nice looking dogs there. I had a Siberian that I had to put
down a few years back, ( cancer ) then lost my chow mix
a yr or two later. I get too attached to my pets so I told the
wife no more animals, hurts to much when they go. Well
what does the daughter do, buys a German shepherd !
Beautiful dog but goofy as a 3 dollar bill. Love that
F'er though. His moms Chec and the dads German import.
Goofy guy has a better pedigree than me.
Happy 4th guys

Thanks Guys! He is a good dog but not a good family dog. As I've pointed out that female drove me nuts. As gunrunner has indicated they are wolf like and it's interesting to watch the ingrained instinct in their personalities. When their young, you have to establish their pecking order in your family and most important train, train, train. Once they get it... it's there forever. If your not there to do that. Then they tend to take over. Their not for everybody... especially if you have small children.

Now Ray is laaaaaid back... a squirrel or rabbit can get about 30 feet away and he'll just sit there watching and won't do anything. He chased a few when he was a pup, think he figured out their just way too fast. He' real lovey dovey and has an excellent temperament, could be a companion dog for the elderly.

Ray's still got his gonad's so I'm thinking about breeding him. Reason I was wondering if anyone had one.

Good looking dog! Sometimes goofy's good. Know what you mean about getting attached.

Happy 4th to you and everyone as well

Great dog.
I do not have Akita but the Schoth shepard dog Collie, blue merle.
Young female one, just an 5 months.

Heard lot of great opinions about Akita.
Two friends of mine have them.
Very friendly dogs.

I've had Caucasian shepard about 4 years ago but he died after
12 yers of his life. Its quite a long life to Caucasian.
Typicaly 10 years max.
That was the best dog that i have in my life.
Not for anyone couse they very big.
Mine have about 180lbs.

180! Do you have any pictures of him? My friend had an Irish Wolf Hound he was a big dog, almost 3 feet tall. Don't think he weighed that much though.

5 month female Collie that's a nice dog. How about some pictures.

They are great dogs!

Whe are gonna to get another dog when we buy a house in a couple years and I will most likely get another Alaskan Malamute!!

Sateriel666... Beautiful dogs! The paint on the Collie is awesome. Good luck with her.

My half brother had an Akita, tough trainer but a good pup.

Reading though the forum. it does a heart good to see pets and thier owners.

Here is Bill, he was an abused dog that I adopted. before and after. and Anna and Fred the Shepards. Fred is the Uncle and Anna the Niece.

I also adopted a former fighting dog, Chelsie, I'll post pictures of her and the 210lb shepard mastiff "Gus" that I adopted, tomorrow when I get a new scanner. After they passed away I got the other dogs.

With Chelsie it was my house or to be put down. she went to 5 different houses. it took about 6 months to settle he down. 12 years later she passed, at home, and happy.

Pets are so much a member of the family, thanks for sharing :biglaugh:

KJ you have a heart of gold! Nice dogs... they look pretty darn content living with you. If I had the money I'd surround myself with dogs.

Damn, the transition in Bill is huge. The smile on his
face is awesome. Nice to see adoption and rescue
is still an option for people.

Thanks Gary.
Its a rare and unique paint - Blue merle. My fiance always wants that type.
Cost some big money but that was not the ponit.
First time in my life i see that kind of friendly dog.
Its imposible to get nervous her even a little.
Ist perfect dog to live with children imho more then retriver or labrador.
Fantastic dog.

You should look at aussie shepard in paint Red merle.
They very similar to Collie but that red paint simply kills :)

Akita its a very specific dog. He dont need that much attention like Colie etc, its not an guardian dog or something. its an hunter dog like you mentioned and they need to a lagre space in a living place.Definitly not for cities etc.

Caucasian its a not very good dog for an beginer, definitly not i should say.
Definitly they should live in close area with not much visitors.
Mine was always get angry with visitors especialy with the mailman :D
The main problem with that dog is they think that evrything what can they see with thier eyes are belong to them even if its outside your teretory.
It could be real problem when you dont have a good fence.
And i must say in that time i've had an caucasian there was no way to have unwanted guest in you teretory. If someone want to sneak in then yes, he will let it go in but, no way to get out...alive.
And unfortunetly you cant control this behavior...
