Not quite... It's a detuned SV1000 engine, which is a slightly retuned TL1000 engine, which has MANY different parts than the TL. The SV had more midrange torque and less overall HP. It makes the bike more streetable.

I have an SV1000 and I find that it's a BLAST to ride. VTwin grunt is awesome.

You may also want to look at setting your TPS. It can make a heck of a difference.

It doesn't rev super quick because it's a 1000cc twin. My redline is over ten and it DOES have a rev limiter.

The V-Strom's are a great all around bike. I just can't touch the ground when sitting on one. A 30" inseam doesn't work on one. :Sad:
 
in the corners it feels like it wants to slide out from under you, probably because the rear wheel is 4 feet away from you.... lol... once i get used to it im sure it wont be a problem though. did a few wheelies today, they arent violent like on the vmax just nice and smooth it comes up easy.

rode it all the way around my property today, its not a dirtbike but its still fun. it gets scary when you get in a rut or get to a spot where you cant touch the ground
