This one confuses me. I have changed the oil on this bike twice prior to today and have not had a light issue. Today I change the oil and put in 10w40 instead of the 10w30 since it is getting warmer around here. With the 10w40 the oil light is on when I start the bike. I have checked and re-checked the oil and the level is almost to the top line. I rode the bike around the block and the light is still on. Just 2 days ago with the 10w30 the oil light was not on. Does the bike need to warm up before the light will go out?

OK...well, nevermind. I went out and started the bike after it had been sitting for a little while and the light did not come on. I believe it may have taken a little for the bike to register the oil level since I left it overnight with no oil. I had to reseal the clutch cover since it was seeping out of the bottom (even with a new seal). Anyway, good to go.

Sometimes oil switch sticks. Make sure starter switch is all the way out too.

the floats in the oil level senders and stick too, mine did.

i've also had one randomly reverse polarity oddly enough so keep that in mind!
