I should have a complete set of stock jets for an 89'. Do you need the needles also? Let me know which ones you need and ill send them too you if I've got the ones you want.

I don't know, do they come stock with different sizes?

There is 1 fuel jet, also known as the "main" jet, and there are 2 air jets. So are you looking for fuel, or air or both? So question.....how do you know that you need different jets, has someone said this?

It had supertrapps with open endcaps and ran great but was very loud when I got it. Now I put a stock exhaust on and it's not running very good.

Ok....so its probably just the fuel jets that have been changed. Stock jets (Fuel jets) are 152.5's...BUT the stock Vmax is a little bit rich, so you can go to 150's.

When you get into the carbs, you will have them apart enough to see if someone put a stage 1 kit into it....etc.

Here is a sticky on how to change main jets. http://www.vmaxforum.net/showthread.php?t=3570

Its easy, should take about an hour if your experienced, maybe 2 if your not. You will need to sync the carbs after. Do you know what that is?

I've only worked on single carb bikes a couple times. I know what syncing is but how much is the tool?

Well depends, motion pro has one....and It works, Ive used it before.....but the morgan carbtune is so much better.

Digisync (their banner across the top of the page) is a digital carbtune.

I have synced over 1000 times and have used a motion pro 1 day and sent it back. Mercury carb syncs are almost obsolete as you cannot ship it in the usa anymore. Motion pro uses a blue petroleum based mineral oil that will get air bubbles nearly every time. I would recommend a Morgan cartune.
Check you spark plugs to see if you are rich.

Same page I was on earlier. Hard to tell what you need if you don't know what you've got.

I pulled it apart today and it all looks stock, the a/f mixture plugs are gone so it looks like that is all the adjustment that's been done.

So while it's apart sounds like 150 mains would be a better choice. Also the manifold boots look terrible and the seals for the brass nuts to the main jets. Where could I get all of this?
