Since I had melted my previous one and went back to stock, I have been thinking what I could do to replace it.
I didn't see anything which could fit what I like excepted few ones.
After checking some pics of new bikes and some forum about projector retrofit, I decided to take a look at it.

Here is how it could look like after some photoshop work.
Some of you might recognize their own bike, Hope you won't mind :ummm:

Definately different looking. Very mad max-ish. I'm not personally a fan but i know that many people like that style. I'm more of a clean and simple person myself, like the vrod headlight.

Totally agree with you.
That's what I like about the v-max, it's a so versatile bike.
It can look like a sport cruiser, an hot rod or even a street fighter.
I was searching of having something different, more aggressive without having to put those mask similar to the cybermax and I don't want to go for those cruiser or harley's headlight (except for the v-rod which looks great IMO).

I like it,Might be enough to scare people outta the fast lane at night.I say do it!

The one i used for the photoshop mounting is from the BMW lo-rider headlight.
I'm planning to get 2 projectors, I still need to decide what setup:
- 1 for high + 1 for low beam
- 2 low/high beam combined

Both projector are coming with a clear 50mm lens (similar to recent cars projector headlight).
Their housing is usually in metal or composite plastic with can easilly handle the heat of regular bulb or HID bulbs.
For the front, I'm thinking about getting shrouds used for car retrofit, which will give a finished look.

I also found some with bottom mount instead of side one.
Those are pretty much plug and play and won't request shrouds or brackets.
They come in chrome or black coated.

What do you think guys ? side or bottom mount ?

I like it, it gives a different look indeed. Here is what I put on my bike. I like that double headlight look too.

I was waiting for your pics :)
You ended up not using the side mount as you said.
I does look really good, how is the bottom mount ?
Why did you use the side mount ? It didn't fit well ?

I fabbed up a bracket in cardboard so I can use the original mounting area. Then traced it on a sheet of aluminum. it's now being being cut to shape (damn electric nibblers died). When I get it back I'll bend it into shape and PC it.

The bottom mounts to the stock mounting location and the top bolts to the stock mounting hole.

I wanted a floating look like the stock headlight had. When I get the bracket back, I'll post pictures of it.

your using on headlamp as low and one as high beam ? Did you already see how it's behaving at night ?

The way the lights are set up is top is low beam and both on is high, I run with my high beams on all the time for better me visability. Night time is not an issue, during the summer it dosn't get dark up here. Midnight looks just like noon.

Here is another version of an over/under setup that Pierre from France has done.

This look pretty great too. I think he used a dual 4" headlight but setup vertically.
I like the idea to have it attached from the top without any bracket on the side.
A really great floating setup like yours. It can be perfect with projectors :)

It's giving me better idea for the setup :) hehe thanks

Still thinking about the 2 setup but I need to decide.

Without taking the price into account, I might go for the dual black one (or same in chrome) with bottom floating mount.
Seems to be a pretty nice and good quality setup in full aluminium housing with 2 projectors and custom bracket for the mount on the max. Directly plug and play.

Went with a suzuki SV headlight and a kissan modulator. Also using a relay kit from Ca. Sport Touring and a hella 55/100 bulb. This combo works well for me and is really noticed by cars etc. on the road.
Jack.

Here is the result with some LED turn signals.
- CNC aluminium bracket et projector holder.
- 65mm projectors Hi and low with H3 bulbs
- LED turn signals

Just worried about the size of the LED turn signals, but hope they will be bright.

I got a horizontal bracket just in case I change my mood, I could still fit the projectors and the brackets.

Still need to mount it and to wire :)

I will try to mount both setup this sunday if i find time ;)
I'm really hoping to have a good light with those projectors.

I will see first with regular bulb, but i'm thinking about some 35W HID which could fill up inside.
Or maybe just some PIAA bulbs ... I don't want to go above the recommended 50W for the projectors.
