yea sent them to his place today. Sean is right, the preveous owner tried to polish mine and they had these spots on them i think they call them "veins" it looked like real crap ! the spots looked like shinny spots and they would get worse if you tried to polish any futher! so off to Seans place with them. sorry to hear about your thumb good luck with the healing !
 
just wanted to show you some of the progress i am making with polishing my scoops. i wet sanded them with 400, 600, 1200 then with 1500, polished them, and i will wet sand them again with 2000 grit and polish one last time when i get a chance then i will seal them. being that they were brushed aluminum, its a real pain in the ass trying to get all the brush marks out of it and making it smooth. pay no attention to the date on the pics, i added new batteries to my camera and didnt reset the date...

My female husky came over to pay me a visit, to bad she wont keep the mod monkey away from me...

Keep going if your hand is up to it. They will get much shinier with the polishing even. Still nothing like chrome but as you noted it's close to free.

I think I end up using the white bar compound but polishing sucks so I don't do it very often.
