The struggling Goliath that is Harley-Davidson took a spoonful of government-aid elixir on November 23rd. A group of investors are using $562 million in TALF-which stands for Term Asset-Backed Securities Loan Facility, if that helps you at all-funding to underwrite a huge bond deal. The bond terms vary between one and three years and are backed by the Federal program.

Why not? For the same reason we shouldn't have bailed out any of the banks, car companies, or anyone else. Sorry, I just can't get behind any of this Socialist crap that's being rammed down our throats, and all the shady deals going on behind the scenes. Darwin was right, the strong, clever, and resourceful should survive, and the lazy, stupid, and parasitic should fall.
- - - Just my $.02

They were bailed out once before, so I guess they went back to the well.

Just like GM, instead of General motors, is now should be called Government Motors.

Rotten Bastards!!!!!!!!

I swore they'd never get a dime of my money........

I won't give it willingly........so they take it from me:bang head:

That was a sarcastic remark...

Sorry, didn't mean to be jumping on you, sometimes I have a bad habit of responding too quickly. I don't always catch sarcasm at first glance when it's subtle. One of the problems with e-mail, texting, etc., is you can't hear voice inflections. My bad. (but what I said still goes) :biglaugh:

I don`t think that they get any of our money because:
If Ma Yamaha needed help all of those bad attitude, egotistical bastards would be crying "but they`re Jap bikes" I think we should just let them trip over themselves and fall !!!!:clapping::clapping:
That would be a good kick in the ass of their attirudes and maybe open their eyes to the fact that Harleys aren`t the only real motorcycle there is.:biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:.
Let them become rotting antiques.
Then maybe they`ll be worth something.

Can I sell my piece ? :rofl_200:

I heard a rumor that HD is once again working on a liquid cooled , high HP V4. They looked at it years ago but scrapped the project. They HAVE to know that the next generation of bikers don't want their father's air-cooled V twins. I'm all about tradition, but sheesh, gimme a break! I think a modern , high tech, high HP motor might extend HD's life in the future. And yes, I know all about the V-rod - we all know how unpopular that is. They need to do this project with a whole new look - not an HD or VMAX copy with a Porche motor in it. Develop the motor & put Eric Buell in charge of the rest of the bike & let's see what happens...

They own Buell, and shut them down, now they want to sell M V Agusta.

Buell had some great looking bikes, but I didn't even know about them until Buell folded.

MV Agusta has some great looking bikes, overpriced, but great looking and powerful too.

Too bad HD never advertised Buell or MV Agusta. They may have sold more bikes if people had known they existed.

I read an article in cycle World a while back that said they were working on a new V4. I will see if I can find it & also I had a Harley test engineer at my house a couple months ago & when I brought up the subject & told him he was probably already riding it he changed the subject very quickly.

Sword fish canyon during Sturgis 09'. Vboost was also on vacation that week.
