So the time has come for me to do the fork seals on my 03. I can find progressive springs on Amazon and Ebay but do not know which weight to get them in. My bike is almost bone stock, I weigh in at 280 pounds but often have my wife on the back. Any ideas?

Best bet is to talk to Sean (one2dmax). You might like the HD springs on your shocks, but if your just doing fork springs you should invest in the preload adjusters that Sean has. That way you can have a little more control over the front feel.

For your weight and the combined weight w/passenger, I suggest something other than Prog. Susp. which are I believe only one value.

Look at the springs on the Race Tech site. You enter your weights and it tells you what value to choose. I am thinking 1.05 or 1.1 if you ride two-up a lot. You are 'bigger than average' and people have said the Race Tech ride firmly. Perhaps that is because their emphasis is on handling and not cushiony ride. I have had both and prefer the Race Tech.

Some people say that you should choose one value below what is recommended by Race Tech to make them more comfortable. Another mod you should consider at the same time is Race Tech Gold Valve Cartridge Emulators or RICOR valving, which make your damper rods essentially spacers, and the damping function is transferred to the wave stack washers. A simple install, and I have the RICORS and like their effect.

FM is right,
I have Progressive fork Springs and I love them but I only weigh 180 lbs. or so and almost always ride solo.

For your weight and the fact that you ride 2 up a lot, I'd look at the RaceTech Fork Springs with Gold Valve Emulators:

For rear shocks you'd probably want to go with the Progressives 430's or 444's with HD springs like Dave suggested.

The progressive are rising rate springs. The harder the bounce the stiffer they get. Nothing wrong with even larger riders using them. I do sell both but the progressive tends to give the more comfortable ride when not riding aggressively.
