can the stock shocks be disassembled so the spring can be painted?

I wouldn't think so considering the quality of them, but I'm not sure. I'll take a good look at them this week as I get it ready for the first spring ride.

I've seen ones with black springs....bought a set so I can paint em black.

I had the local shop pull mine apart for me.I painted them up real nice.Then they scratched the shit out of them reassembling them.Still charged me! Thanks man!
