temp sensor

temp gauge not working, tried grounding out sensor wire but no movement on gauge, tested wire...not broken.
does this mean my temp gauge has gone?
Is there anything else I should check?
Ive ran the bike several times this arvo doing coolant flushes, thermo fan still kicks in.
I also tapped the needle several times to make sure it wasnt stuck...still nothing
Any Advice before I pull the gauge??

The fan is operated by the sensor in the radiator while the temperature gauge is operated by the temperature sending unit in the thermostat housing. That being said, are you sure that you are the the correct one?

Ground the sensor right at the gauge. Check for + and - at the gauge. Ditch it if it doesn't peg.

Both the fan switch and temperature sender are in the coolant manifold. Fan switch is the bigger of the two.

Sometimes the gauge will stick. Tap on gauge when you have the wire grounded.
