I recently got a good deal on a '88 Max that has been sitting a few years.
I have done this job on more bikes than I can count in my years as a mechanic and also from just owning a lot of different bikes.
So of course I knew the carbs were going to be needed cleaned, but after I took them all down, found lots of parts that needed replaced as well ($$$)
Like slides, diaphragms, etc. but one carb has the pilot screw completely frozen and I tried EVERYthing to get it out but no way.
So I need the #3 carb body.
My local salvage yard has lots of Venture carbs and will sell me just the one I need but I am not sure if the bodies are exactly the same. The look like it but there could be differences in the pressed in air jets.
Anybody done this?
