What's That Little Hole?

I flushed my coolant the other day and noticed a very small hole at the bottom of the water pump, just under the cover. Being curious I stuck a little screw driver up there to see how deep it is and it just kept going in, but when I pulled it out it was pretty gucky. Anyone know what that little hole is?

Its supposed to be there. If you find a bunch of coolant steaming out of there you know its time to rebuilt the water pump.

Run it like it is til you get sick of wiping off coolant from the bottom of your bike. At least noone can accuse you of leaking like an old Harley, they don't have waterpumps!

Coolant will come out of that hole if your water pump seal goes bad.
