SAN DIEGO – More Mexicans are leaving than moving into the United States, reversing the flow of a half-century of mass migration, according to a study published Thursday.

The Pew Research Center found that slightly more than 1 million Mexicans and their families, including American-born children, left the U.S. for Mexico from 2009 to 2014. During the same five years, 870,000 Mexicans came to the U.S., resulting in a net flow to Mexico of 140,000.

The desire to reunite families is the main reason more Mexicans are moving south than north, Pew found. The sluggish U.S. economic recovery and tougher border enforcement are other key factors.

Horse chit! Hard to believe not one of the net 140,000 has left from this area of MO, but instead, have probably increased by that amount TEN FOLD during that same time period. Makes me wonder who, exactly, hired the Pew people to put out those stats, and whether or not they made any attempt, whatsoever, to count the illegal crossings, or simply relied upon only those crossings handled legally through the US border system.

Well the Pew research center has a lot of stats and polls that are cited by fox....so I dont doubt the methodology. I do find it funny that the White house keeps saying how much the economy has improved....unemployment is down (but never citing the ACTUAL unemployment numbers)....yada, yada, yada.....but we have people LEAVING the country going to mexico looking for work.

Missouri probably has that many in this 4 county area lone - but it's said they are very shy when it comes to filling out census reports.

And this is probly taken from some form of documentation like welfare rolls, food stamps, etc.....the number of them completely below the radar living outside the law drug dealers, bangers, Diane Fiensteins 'domestic' staff, etc. is impossible to determine with any degree of accuracy.

I dont mind diversity, its all good. I just hope that some day in the distant fairy tale future we can have it so that US tax payers are not footing entitlements or charity for immigrants. IMHO that would remove the burn a lot of folks feel when this comes up. I have enjoyed living in places with diversity, variety in food and women is a supreme perk!

True.....I just wish that people would come here legally. I know that its difficult....and I know that there needs to be reform. A good friend of mine, his wife is german....and she has been here since 18. Her sister tried for 12 years to be able to immigrate to this country...UNSUCCESSFULLY. Finally she gave up. So there needs to be reforms. Its too hard for people to come here legally, and the prez wants it to be too easy to come here illegally.
