I got a call from my guy at the stealership today i didnt answer because my hands were full so he left a voicemail. now i check the voicemail and relize who it was then start to get a chubby he's going to tell me its in come get it but no he says the max came in and it was so badly damaged it transport that they refused it. The only good thing was the front fender that had been problems for some other 09's (poor packing) was the only thing that was not trashed.
He said they contacted yamaha and they are going to send another one within a few weeks.
i smell something BULLS**T the pricks took it out for a test ride and either blew it up or wrecked it i would really be pissed if it were riding season!!!!!!!

Thats weak.

Maks you wonder if someone slipped him a fin to make up the story and step on in for your bike, cause yours came in first.

Something similar happened to me on a new Olds convertible I has special ordered years ago. (1973 to be exact). They told me it had come in (after 8 weeks waiting) but called a few hours later to say it wasn't in yet but would be in a few days. Suspicious, I went to the dealer and casually walked thru the service dept and saw my car in one of the bays. It appeared they had dropped the chains used to tie down to the transport on the hood and pretty much ruined it. I guess they were going to either repair it or get a new one and then repaint (without telling me). Needless to say, I refused delivery and ordered from another dealer. Had to wait another 7 weeks though.

yea i will be riding to the stealer in the morning to get the low down and i hope they took some pics to back up their BS story and i was the only person to order one though them they even asked could they display it in feb. at the bike show on a pedestal and behind ropes.
you just dont know but there aint much that suprizes me so it should be interesting.

sounds like bullshit to me ! TELL HIM YOU WILL GIVE HIM $500.00 IF HE PASSES A POLYGRAPH TEST , & IF HE FAILS YOU GET $5,000.00 OFF ON THE BIKE ! THEY ARE SUCH F!@#^*G LYE-RS !

I would contact your local/regional/National Yamaha Rep to verify the story and to receive some sort of compensation for the extended wait of your beloved GenII. If the dealer is lying or bullshitting you, do you really want him assembling the bike or any of his crooks? Just a thought. Sorry for your extended wait and frustration.

i like this idea. its entirely possible its true and which case they are taking care of it for you, however if its not... better to find out now rather than later.

esp if its not a top notch dealer...

Hell if it is true, you might be able to talk yourself into some swag or some goodies for your ride :biglaugh:

Whichever way you're entitled to some kind of compensation or another - someone somewhere fucked up and you the customer is paying the price (having to wait longer than expected).

Go get the goodies!!

Just got back from the stealer they dont get the bikes delivered to their store they go to the warehouse and get uncrated/ assembled but not serviced until they reach the store. it is a dealer that has a few locations so it makes sence he said that the max along with 2 other bike had damage to the crates like a fork lift went though them.
i tried call the yamaha rep. but they only have weekday hours i sure dont want to have a incident like m-cman had with his olds.
Chris

Funny, but when I went back for my 600 mile oil change the dealer told me that the next Vmax they received here had forklift damage and they had to send it back. Forks straight through the front scraping down both sides of the bike. Makes you wonder whether all that happened in the same place or something.

If its all true then those damn fork operators need to lay off the booze or giggle weed!!!!!!! i guess they dont relize they are messing with peoples emotions LOL!!!

They're all idiots. We get 2-3 compressors a month that are a total loss due to lift truck impalement or parts being flipped on their lid.

Sounds like bull shit to me anytime a bike is delivered and there damage the dealer will get the parts from Yamaha . They get paid to change the parts . What dealer don`t want to make $89.00 an hour . Even if they get $50.00 an hour from Yamaha.

Your bike is serial # to YOU .

You call the Yamaha Rep See what they say .

Trust me . The wait will be worth it . Get some shit from your dealer for him jerking you off.

Chuck

Thats exactly what i am suspecting the bike is at the warehouse and they are trying to get the parts from yamaha that are damaged. I wonder if yamaha even has any parts available yet but i will call the rep. in the a.m. to get the vin# of the original max sent and if the so called new one has the same vin# then its on!!!!!!!
Chris :boxing:

They can't replace any major parts and still call it new. I think that they only allow some cosmetic stuff.

this is true ! Unless the frame is bent thats the bike you will get ! A rep. From yamaha may have to look at it & approve the parts to be ordered to fix it , but as far as you getting a different bike , i'm not so sure about that ! But that is a new bike built with new parts that were damaged in shipping & the damaged parts will be unbolted & replaced with new parts , as long as the guy installing the parts is a good careful & caring mechanic , you would have never known if they didn't tell you ! I hope it all works out in the end ! I'd be bummed to if it were mine !

The key words there is if i didn't know! i know this shit happens all the time and if you dont know it dont matter but it all changes when you know. i will not except it at the price they are selling for and if they tell me it only minor damage i want to see it before it gets fixed but they are not going to force a damaged bike on me and call it new or blow smoke up my ass and tell me its another bike.
Chris

Chris, I work for a national LTL carrier here in Canada, so maybe I can provide some help. In Canada, Yamaha uses KN Logistics as their authorizised shipping warehouse. They generally ship to dealers across the country on a full load basis, but the load may contain several drops to different dealers in a genaral area. The freight is loaded by the warehouse and unloaded by the dealers at the delivery point. The dealer has no choice what carrier is used and they usually pay Yamaha a flat fee for freight per unit. It is the dealers responsibility to mark the delivery manifest by vin# of condition of the crates, etc...

The damaged units must be inspected by a claims rep, either company employee of carrier or third party and a full inspection report is produced on what is damaged item by item. Pictures are always taken of damage also. Parts are ordered, if item is repairable, and in this case, the bike is fixed.

I would recommend that you demand to see the delivery manifest to confirm the vin# of the damaged bike and a copy of the inspection report and pics that was left with the dealer. One of the pictures of the bike will be the vin#.

You can refuse to receive that bike and they need to order you another bike depending on extent of damage to it and how long you are willing to wait for the replacement. As far as getting extra goodies for the trouble, that would up to the dealer as a goodwill gesture, as Yamaha won't do anything themselves.

Sorry to hear about the bullshit that you are going through to get your new bike. Hopefully you get it sorted out to your approval soon.

Mike

thanks for the heads up Mike that will help me get some more input and hopefully get to the bottom of this bull shit!
