I just purchased this pair of bar end mirrors from ebay for $45 with free shipping. They are designed to expand inside the handle bar but can be easily adapted for use on the 09 vmax by removing the xpandable portion from the mirrors and bolting directly to the end of the handle bar. This can be done using three meathods.

1. Second photo: Remove stock bar end and bolt mirror directly to the end of the handle bars.

2. Third photo: Place mirror between hand grip and stock bar end and bolt on using a longer allen head bolt.

3. Fourth photo: Bolt mirror onto the outside of the stock bar end using a longer allen head bolt. This meathod will get you a little more width for the mirrors if desired.

These mirrors will fold in underneath the bars for parking in tight places or storage.

This is the different mounting meathods and how they look installed. Last two photo's depict reversing the stock mirror mounting cap.

Nice job of showing everyone the different options. I'm sure its appreciated by others. Looks good too. I like it best w/o the factory bar ends, mirrors only.

Any tricks for removing the stock barends? They are non-threaded, correct? I have "barender" helmet locks I ordered last week but haven't installed yet. They are well made. I'll post pics and advice after I get them on.

oops, never mind, the barends are a simply hex=bolted on. See my "barender helmet locks" post.
