Brake pads tight?

Hi, took my front wheel off for the first time today(long story, another post) put it back on by the book,
wheel spun freely w/o calipers, put on calipers and squeezed the lever a few times and now wheel barely turns due to pads contacting disc.

Is this normal? Does it adjust when you ride it? Should I just go really slow and try a few stops?

Did you clean the pistons up and then compress them back into the caliper? That's not normal.

No, just slid them off, then slid them back on...

Normal.. But Pistons might be sticking. You should have seen all the 1985 crystallized brake fluid around my pistons before a rebuild. The seals were in perfect shape btw.

i can still turn the wheel and the pads def recoil but it takes riding the bike even if its down the driveway to clear that up completely.
