I'm pretty sure Dannymax did it with vmax parts though, ask him? He also may have what you need.

Correct. Venture 1300 carbs would be preferred but the choke linkage is different and can't be changed out to use the normal hand lever.

They sure will. Here is a set of 34mm carbs I ran for a couple months this summer....they are jetted for the V Max and work very well.
I adapted the choke lever, it comes off #1 carb instead of #2.

The 86-93 Venture carbs will work if the jets are changed. These carbs are 35mm. The 83-85 carbs are externally identical, but are 34mm.
I have a 83 Venture with a 1300 motor in it and put a set of 88 carbs on it last winter to replace the 83 set I had been using. Due to my putting a V-boost on the bike, the standard Venture hand grip choke hookup to the carbs was an issue due to the carbs being closer to the frame with the taller intakes. I removed the hand grip choke and went to a Vmax style choke linkage operated by the lever on the carb bodies. The biggest obstacle to doing this is the #2 Venture carb body does not have a boss cast into it that is needed to mount the screw that tightens up the linkage and keeps it at set position. I got a bare #2 Vmax body and put all my Venture (new) parts into it and it has worked fine. Otherwise the stock linkage from the Vmax worked OK.
