Went to the local gun show at a local casino last weekend. It was very crowded, more so than in past years. Ammo is usuall a fair deal there so that is my main reason for going and I have a buddy who gets me in free.

The ammo sales counter was absolutely unreal !!!!!!!!!! People were 3 deep and the counter is about 50 feet long with 3 regesters. They couldent sell bullets fast enough. Gun prices were up a bunch and not many were buying the usual investement style but tactical stuff was quite common.
( Including the Barret .50 semi-auto for $9,000 that I dearly wanted.:biglaugh:)

Same deal in your neck of the woods?????????????????????

Yup,
One of my buddies worked the last gun show. $6000 ammo orders weren't uncommon at all.
7.62, 5.56 and 9mm flew off the table.
I can't even find any bullseye powder or CCI primers around here.
I have another show coming up in late Dec. and a ar-15 swap meet in Jan.
I expect them to be just as chaotic.

It's getting crazy around here.

And, contrary to everything, the small local gun shop here has closed. I can't understand it at all, it's been in there for years. Seemed like he was doing well..........and now it's closed! :confused2:

Some of the gun shops around here are running out, but here's my favorite ammo store - Walmart ! Most around here forget that good old Wallyworld sells a pretty good variety of ammo & at a descent price as well. Every paycheck I'm buying one box - lately .357 mag because that's my latest gun purchase & I havn't stockpiled it yet. 23 bucks for 50 rounds of 125 grain JSP , and there's never a line of people - it's always just me. My local gun store is always slammed with people & they get top dollar for their stuff. I'm may take a run up to Hudson today & see what that shop is doing - they used to be pretty reasonable. My first gun hunt of the season is this Friday & I'm stoked !!!

So whats with all the rise in gun and ammo sales....new legislation coming in?
I remember reading some thing in the news few years back when Florida was trying to pass a new gun bill......It was reported that gun sales went up 110%,10 firearms per every man woman and child...nutz.
:ummm:

Without getting political, Obama is selling these guns and ammo.
He has, in the past, supported a %500 sales tax increase on ammunition, he wants to get rid of CCW, and wants to ban "assault rifles".

I think he'll have too much other stuff to do for a while, but that's pretty much why it's getting hard to find AR lowers or any magazine over ten rounds. Not to mention ammunition, and evil black rifles.

And don't forget there are some VERY anti-gun politicians ( Chuck Schumer, Diane Fienstein, Nancy Pelose ) that will be placed in very powerful positions in January. With Congress stronger than ever & no White House to keep them in check, the gov't will pass some serious restrictions in the near future. Buy now while you still can - it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when.

How soon before Obaba has his Taliban friends showing up in big numbers?

i have never felt the need to own a gun, except for hunting till now, can you imagine the criminals going wild when the only personal protection john q public can by is a rubber.

Also Keep in mind that the rumor is his Attorney General is going to be the very same guy who thinks the 2nd amendment does not give the right to people to keep and bear arms. He believes that it means militia.
So even if Obama doesn't initiate it, guns rights are going to be trampled on. I bet it happens sooner than later too, they aren't going to wait around for an Obama 2nd term to start the ball rolling. They are going to try to sneak them in right off the bat before people realize what is happening.

Why do politicians think that tougher gun laws solve anything?....Make the penalties reflect the crime.Punish the criminals ,not the gun owners.

Murder/deliberate= Death sentence.
Murder/of passion=25 with out parole.
Murder/accidental=15-20,possible parole.
Any other crime committed with a fire arm = 20yr sentence.

Here in Canada they instituted new gun registration. It doesn't work , ask any cop. Gun amnesty got the loose guns off the streets. But not out of the hands of criminals.
Criminals don't, won't , never will, legally register their fire arms.
So the only criminal is the guy that forgets to renew his registration ,..and has his house broken into and his guns stolen.
Punish the criminals that harm the innocent,..don't make the innocent in to criminals.

It's all bullshit IMO!! Politicians don't give a damn about actual 'gun control', they know it's an impossibility.
There's a huge sub-culture out there handling the procurement, movement and sale of illegal firearms that remains completely untouched by any bullshit gun control legislation.
The real purpose of the legislation is simply to generate revenue...application fees, transfer fees, renewal fees, purchase permit fees, fees, fees, fees! It's just another gummint money game.
And a vehicle for keeping tabs on the honest gun owning folks so they can find them when the time comes to take their weapons away!

how does it go? "You can have my gun when you pry it from cold dead hands!"

I haven't been to a gun show in a few years. I have a few thousand rounds for my 7.62 AK and probably 1000 for my 9mm. A few boxes here and there for the rest of each of my guns. My next purchase will be a desert eagle .44 from a guy here at work. It won't happen until after the first of the year though. Too many other bills to pay and things to buy.

Hell of a choice Sean! Always wanted a Desert Eagle in .41 mag. Guess, if I really want one I'd better grab it up soon, huh!!

+1 on the 7.62 Russian rounds, same for .45 ACP. Plus the equipment and supplies to load several thousand more rounds of .45's, .38's & .357's.

Never know man, just might be over-run by hords of renegade squirrels..............literally! :biglaugh:

He can believe it all he wants, SCOTUS ruled otherwise in Heller, and reversals of SCOTUS aren't come by in a day.

We're going to see a lot of restrictive registration proposed, but bear in mind that things have been going well for 2A for some years now, and J. Public seems to be coming around. It's not time to start voting from the roof just yet.

....btw since we're on the subject I've got an 8" Dan Wesson in .44 mag for sale, PM me if you need a cartoon of a handgun.
