I have a 2005 vmax with about 12000 miles. I took it to a local drag strip last friday night. my first run was an 11.8 at 115 mph. For the next four runs, on it made progressively less power until I ran a 13.5 at 95 mph. It seemed like a good time to pack it up. I took it out for a ride the next day and it still felt like it was down about 40+ hp (a guess) but the engine sounds fine, doesn't smoke, and it revs freely in neutral. It feels like its going lean to me, but the fuel filter, air filter, look fine. Could the fuel pump cause this?
This is not the first time it has lost power, and in the past it just kind of smartened up on its own.
