If your painting I heard that painting the "fins" is a no-no, whereas the end caps are ok to paint.

yea just be careful with the fins they are fragile. And as Brian said, if you're painting mask them!

And don't forget to check the routing of the drain piping (bypass) after you are done... If you did it to begin with... Add fluid to level, run the engine and keep adding to level because the air will be released bit by bit when it starts circulating and the level will come down...

While you have the rad off check the hose that goes up from the drain valve.
They can get gunged up.
