Shop Manual ?

Where could I download/buy a copy of the shop manual for a 1993 Vmax?, I have the owners manual, just need the "shop bible" that is used for detailed work....Any help appreciated!

Not allot of detail in that manual. No part numbers either.

Are there any other manuals which go more into detail for a newbe?

For part numbers, go to any online shop such as bikebandit.com or babbittsonline.com - they all have full parts microfiches with all the description and numbers you want.

The Yamaha service manual is the bible for their mechanics, but of course assumes a lot of knowledge.

Another alternative is the Haynes manual. Nicely detailed, and with the home mechanic in mind. Based on a full take it apart/rebuild - I've been using these happily for years.

Don't ever buy any Chilton manual - they are dreadfully useless!

Thanks. The Clymer service manual was recommended for a carb rebuild.

How does the Clymer differ from the Haynes manual?

Try a Clymer. For part numbers go to yamaha-motor.com. Click on Star, parts, and then view parts manuals.
