I don't think the Gen 1 has one.

I'm pretty sure for the most part they only started showing up on bikes when they became fuel injected.

Correct. No tip over sensor but there is a tip over fuel check valve (located to the front left side of the battery box). They won't run long on their side but the check valve is supposed to stop fuel from leaking out.

EDIT: Oops! So not a sensor, thanks for clarifying Sean!
It does have one, in fact, and it is located on the plastic panel in front of the fuel tank. The hose that runs from the top of the tank vent to a screw mounted overflow valve ( white with black ends ) the hose exits the valve then dumps under the bike (secured by the pig tail spring at the back of the oil pan). This not to be confused with the over flow line that runs from the rubber overflow shield around the gas tank fill neck down the side of the rank and has a square guide on the swingarm for it.

Will tip over valve keep it from running?
