That has got to be the oddest mock-up made for anything ever.

No kidding.... if they spent the same amount of time on this piece of "art" as they did working on the actual bike, they may have had something in production already.
 
:drool: is it just me or is that a tore down prototype that has been tested? look at it closely the tire is worn and the rear wheel looks used:ummm: that to me sounds like it may be closer to production than is being hinted.:hmmm:
 
i looked on the starvmax siteand found lots more pics:eusa_dance: lots more details . i still think it is a prototype test bike tore down . the mechanicals look functional and used also some small details are apparent - may have variable length intake stacks ala the r1, the swingarm looks solid and it has a monoshock rear suspension.:ummm:
 
I don't think Yamaha wastes much money on design art projects. Maybe what's currently holding them back is traction control for all that horsepower.
