I never experienced a loose stock handlebar/master cyl, but I would sand down the 1/2 clamp a bit (the one which holds the bolt heads) until I got a good 'purchase' on the handlebar. It shouldn't take much sanding.

Install clutch master cylinder, use the vacuum pump to bleed the system. just under 1.5min lever grabs right at the top. Change oil and filter, Check bolts all around the bike for tightness. Check front and rear brakes, Coolant level, Syc carbs, Brake fluid levels, Check tire pressures, Check fork oil level, Check all carb boots,

Also question clutch master cylinder that was order did not have this little lip that fits under the lights housing.. Also it was kinda loss on the handlebar. I had to rap the handlebar with leather strip so the clutch master cylinder fit tight.

Am I doing this right?

ImCannibal I would recommend starting a new thread specifically for what you are doing.

I was just being a goon, that was my progress from the day of wrenching and putting silly parts on the max. I think Sean is the only one that knows exactly what I'm doing to it, but once it's ready to ride again I'll post a start-finish build thread.

Looks like you putting USD forks on it.

What did I do today? Took some photos. That's all. I sure love this bike.
Just after I took these photos I took my son to the park to hit a softball around and played catch. It's easy for these machines to distract us from our family and what's really important.

Order the Rico Intiminator for the front forks.

Ive thought about those...can you post how it turns out?
I have the Ricor's Eric, they were not a night and day difference but I think they made for a smoother ride, and I noticed that with potholes and other sharp edged bumps they were less jarring through the handlebars. And they match my Progressive 440's theory of operation, differentiating whether it was input from the road or from the frame.
I bought them when they were on the introductory sale (~$150.00 if I remember correctly) but would probably not have bought them for the full asking price.

Install rick's 4 pole started today, Turns the motor smooth and fast. Less amps then the old starter I had in there.

I did a lot reading on these and race tech.... Ricor's can be adjusted and drop in no mods to it. I found a set for $98.00 on ebay buy it now post. I jump on it right away. I'm learning from Jamie to hope stuff when the price is real good it may never come again.

I changed the brakes....front and rear. You can see in the pic....I needed to change the brakes. Those pads were on the left front caliper.

I also put a set of the green pads on the rear. With new brakes front and rear....it feels like a new bike.

I don't post a lot but I just ordered a few gaskets that have been leaking some oil, along with new fork seals and the Progressive fork lowering springs. Planning to check steering bearings and maybe toss some paint on the trees and fork lowers while it's apart.

Later, Doug

Shimmed my valves, with help from Sean, thanx again Sean, now everything is nice and tight or should I say loose in a good way now it's on to paint and reassembly .
