New front tire and fork seals....and Monday off work ride day to boot to wear those new tire indicators off!

No riding today, kinda... found that one of the arcade games at Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky has a Gen 2 as one of the bikes! Did a bunch of digital Gen 2 riding, lol.

Did 109 miles with about a 30 min stop half way through. Really nice ride except that i was the third or fourth person on the scene of a pretty bad jeep to tree collision. I think the guy will be ok I waited along with some other people for paramedics. Shittiest part was we didn't want him to move in case of back or neck injuries which wouldnt have been too big a deal if the tree he hit didnt have the now disturbed honey bee hive. It was a bit chaotic for a while. I don't think anyone got stung and the paramedics arrived promptly to see to him.

Took a couple of hrs ride today. Sometimes it's good to get out and about and clear out the cobwebs.

About 2 weeks ago I installed forward controls on my '02. This setup is much more comfortable (with the Morley Seat :biglaugh:), and somewhat surprisingly I feel more in control around corners than the stock setup. While I will miss the look of the WR Rearsets (for sale here) I was planning on installing, the new controls actually look pretty cool.

I threw in a pic of the Sumitomo brake calipers and big muffler from Sean Morley.

These brakes are great for simulating hitting a wall, and yet they are very progressive with the stock front master once seated after a few miles.

Carbon muffler looks good, sounds great, even if it is comically large!

I finally broke the 20K mark on my 03 Max. I bought it new in December of 2002 and put every mile on it myself. It's bone stock with exception of the tinted wind screen for the VMax.

Mixed up some custom orange pearl today and done a set. I only got one hint of sun today so could not really get any good pictures.

Borg, Nice bike! Who's Light is that?
How do you like it?

I got it from Amazon, I forgot the make. It was $49.95. Had to figure out how to mount it, just had to buy some bolts.

It looks great, and the high beam is awesome, low beam is just 'ok' - still better than stock, though. Heh, almost anything is better than the early 80's lighting the Gen 1 has/had.

Finally got the rear wheel installed - a modified 17" wheel to fit the radial tire.

Then installed a set of 6 pot sumitomo calipers and galfer brake lines (not shown) but stripped the screw head on the master cylinder so need to have that drilled out.

Then change the front tire to a radial and all done for now.

How did you choose to finish the rear rim's paint? Looks like the front rim could use a re-finish to match, from that partial shot of the front wheel.

I think you should be able to use more of that power-adder with a new radial tire. Be sure and give us a use comparison between your bias-ply set-up, and the new radials when you manage to get some miles on them. :auto182:

For the rear rim, I just painted it with epoxy paint. Yes, when i change the front tire, will respray that wheel as well.

I also added Ride-on to the rear wheel in lieu of normal balancing. The front has dyna beads as I rarely get flats up front.

Its monsoon season here in the Philippines. So hard to get out and ride as it rains just about every day, except this week while the bike is down. Will give an update once everything up and running and we have a dry spell.

Rode up to mission BBQ for bike night had the 804 guys dyno my 90 that I have had for 10 years. Never had it on a dyno. Current setup is Sean's muscle jet kit, with 147.5 mains, UFO 4-1 megaphone. Crappy fuel, no carb tweaking for over two years. Knowing I need to change my oil bike has been rode hard this summer. It hasn't been run too much in the past couple years. I might go back to a 152 or 150 main. Which should help then lean top end, but it pulls pretty good. Also need to clean my airbox.....lol bike will get a deep cleaning shortly.. I want another 600 miles on it the year.. might have to run one of my wheels with a Shink since the Avon is about ready for Thunder next summer....lol or I will just buy another wheel from John if he has good deals ready again... lol
