At the Honda dealership for parts for my S2000, which has the same red line as the later model VMAX 9000 RPM. It has a 6-speed gearbox with a shifter that's like a toggle switch. The car has been sitting and I finally was able to get around to troubleshoot it, fortunately it's a very minor repair to get it back on the road. The VTEC engine is very similar in its feel to vboost!

I did the work I needed to-do, and now is the best time of the year for a convertible sports car in Florida. While I was out cruising to check my work, I stopped at my young neighbor's house when I saw him outside. He has a performance car blog, and he's always showing-up with something. There's a McLaren/Porsche/Ferrari/ AUDI/Maserati dealer about 2 miles away, and a Tesla dealer across the street. This is the first time I had a chance to see a C8 up-close, it is pretty-interesting. When he departed, the car went bip-bip-bip through the gears as he accelerated-away. A few years ago, the speed of shifting was F1 technology.

Had to take a break from the truck. My back and neck were staying swollen and was losing feeling in my left arm.so I switched over to my easy hobby and built this stuff the last couple days.

I like the coiled snake the best. However, the bottle and glasses holder would slake my thirst better.
 
Started a secret restoration for my dad. This was his favorite car (and we've got a lot of cool cars). He drove this a lot in the 80's and 90's as a regular driver. It's a 1967 SS 427 with rare domed hood (the car itself is rare as only a little over 2000 of 1 million had the 427 option). There are currently only 124 registered SS 427's (I'm sure there are a few others but not many). We don't have the original 427 so we're going to do some "upgrades" to make it more fun for a daily driver. I envision he will use this for most of the running around he does for me since the trunk is large and can carry plenty of stuff lol.

Going to strip it down to the frame (obviously with some body shop assistance).
The 468 is already built with full roller cam and lifters (hydraulic roller).
Going with an overdrive trans (probably 4L80E to hold up to the torque)
Fuel Injection
MAYBE Procharger
Vintage Air
PST complete suspension (larger sway bars, all new front and rear, torque arms in the rear, polygraphite everything, body mounts, ect..)
Not sure on brakes just yet but the stock disc/drum worked well
12 Bolt rear maybe new seals but it's a good rear already
Completely go through the interior. Dynamat, new wiring.
Anything else that someone might consider?

The rear quarters are the worst part of the car. The rest of the metal is good enough to work with as is. It's going back the Factory Marina Blue with White top and Black interior.

We snuck the car out about a week ago and the body shop already has disassembled and cleaned most of it up. There were 4 full 55 gallon trash can loads lol.

Waaaaaaay back when I was young there was a guy named Tom Elder I hung out with from time to time that had a beautiful '67 Impala. (It had a 327 in it.)

One Saturday night a bunch of us partied into the wee hours of the morning. Got hammered. I think I passed out around 3 in the morning. Next thing I know, Tom's kicking my feet telling me to get up.

I had forgotten that I promised I would drive him over to Alabama to this junkyard that had a Bondo free fender for his Impala. (Some moron hit his in a parking lot.) Man, I was so hungover it was awful. But I drove him the 5 hours there. (We were in my Chevelle and my AC wasn't working and it was July.)

Get all the way there only to find out the fender had Bondo in it. It was all for nothing.

I haven't thought of that day in decades. Seeing that Impala brought it all flooding back.
 
Was the '65 Biscayne/Bel-Air/Impala the last year for the separate body on-frame?

Some reinforcement of the chassis/body probably would be in-order. Whatever you can do to modernize the headlamps would greatly-help night-time use. I like a stock appearance, so keeping round headlamps is what I'd do, with LED elements. Older people need all the night vision assistance they can get. Your depth perception and the night-time visual acuity deteriorates.

I really-like the GM "Rally" wheels, and they make-em in larger sizes now. Minimal chrome, a solid one-color body, no vinyl top, and the "Rally" wheels, with their small center hubcaps. A very traditional appearance.

I recall being in the city (NYS) at a local restaurant, the '68's had just been released. It was nighttime, and there was a 'drag-racer's Special' '68 Biscayne sitting-there, with the small 427 rectangular badges on the front fenders. I looked inside and there was a 4-speed w/a 'cue-ball' shifter. The guy soon exited the building, and seeing us standing-around watching, he backed-out onto the road, and hammered it upon departure, the car definitely a big-block, leaving "My Cousin Vinny" positraction twin rubber stripes for a good distance. As we stood there, watching the taillights grow smaller, an unmarked NY State Police cruiser ripped around the parking lot, and took-off in-pursuit. Evidently, he'd been sitting in the parking lot. The 427 Biscayne driver evidently didn't see him, and neither did we, until he hauled-butt out of there.

I once had a '67 GTO 4-speed convertible, I bought & sold it for 3X what I paid for it, in a few months. Because of the appreciation, I never considered keeping it, too-much $$$ to-be made.

The 65-96 Was the full frame and relatively strong so not much needed for the actual frame. Good note on the updated headlights! At a minimum I have some high output bulbs that will put out a LOT more lighting if I can mod the back of the stock sealed beams.

I also had seen the larger rally's and I think that's what we're going with too! Should be a very fun ride.
 
Sean, about the only thing I can think of that I would prefer on an SS427 Impala would be an M22 rock crusher instead of the 4L80.

I have done a lot of Chevrolet restorations over the years. I haven’t done one since the ex-wife and I split. She got my ‘70 SS454 Chevelle and it took the wind right out of my sails on cars. I’m still stewing on that one 16 years later.

I’ve decided to console myself playing with motorcycles instead.
