2014 Yamaha Bolt Gaiters

Just put these on today, their a perfect fit for 43mm Vmax forks. If your looking to put gaiters on your Vmax, this is the way to go. I've never grown to like that look. I know they function well but this just isn't a dirt bike or some old triumph.

Put gaiters on a dirty Max, loosen all the valve cover bolts a bit, run it hard for a day or two, and presto - an old Triumph:eusa_dance:
Seriously, Sean, you might want to add gaiters to your inventory. This look might catch on. Retro is very groovy these days. Kinda like catchwords from the 60's.

I'm torn with these....functionally they provide great protection for the bare chrome but the VMax just doesn't have the same retro look of say a scrambler or a W800 so it kind of looks out of place.
Good way to black out the bike even more though...

Rusty, I like the look, and they can go with almost any front end finish. I think they would look good on a chromed front end as a contrast. Their functional practicality alone protecting the downtubes makes them worthy of consideration. I have thought in the past about doing that, and I am glad to see you posting it up. Aesthetically, it 'bulks-up' the front end significantly.

I'm gonna assume that they must stretch, because the Max has the 43mm fork, while the Bolt has a 41mm fork. (found that out when looking for clamps for a 43mm fork)

I do like the protection they offer, and right now in Maine, we are in the height of road construction season, and everywhere you go, there is a fuckton of dust in the air.

they do look nice, might have to do that myself.... i might get 2 sets though, and put a set between the pinch mounts to help cover that up to, i hate chrome!! nothing more than a time waster to clean up and keep shiny and takes away from ride time, lol. i started to black out the chrome on my 78 goldwing before i sold it. time to start doing that on my max.

Love it Rusty, Damn good looking mirrors too. Here is an idea that will get you in trouble but it's cheap. Every wire you see cover it with split loom. Many different diameters and I have them all.
That clump of wires running behind your left footpeg up under the seat takes about 1 1/2 foot of 1 1/4 split loom--The 2nd is the speedo cable and all the rest is hidden.
