98 vmax oil pan question

Howdy men I looked at a 98 blacked out vmax and noticed the oil pan was plain aluminum. Did this come from the factory this way or could the pan be new or a replacement for whatever reason? thanx

Every one I've ever seen has been plain, cast aluminum.

Might he be talking of an aftermarket bigger capacity milled pan?

its right and i almost powdercoated mine! but it'd be tougher to see any potential oil leaks so i decided against it

Thanks for the replys My 85 bike has always had a painted oil pan. The 98 has a stock pan, just plain I didn't know if Yamaha painted them or not.

Stock is bare aluminum for heat dissipation. We tend to paint them on the engines we build. Otec makes a billet pan with more capacity.
