all front lights gone

Hello chaps and esss's Got problem with my mates 97 VMax.
He started up the bike fine business, but after start up, the head light, all the clock lamps and idiot lights went off.
I have got the lights going again temporarily by jumping a wire link from a positive wire on the harness, at the front of the loom.

I am thinking that everything that has gone out, is what the starter cut out relay cuts out, when pressing the starter button. So I think that the relay has stuck. Thing is I can't locate the relay. Can any one tell me where to find the sccr?
Its component 30 on the wiring diagram.

It sits in between the 1 and 3 ignition coils, under the seat. Its got a round metal housing.

Whoops reread the post. I described the starter relay. I think what you are looking for is under the left scoop

I've heard a couple of guys ask a similar question and it turned out to be a sticky starter button.

Be sure the starter button is returning all the way out and is in good working order too!
