I did the manual switch on mine. Under 30 minutes and under $5.
Here is what I did.

I have the manual switch and it doesn't get much hotter than it gets here in Texas. Rarely have used it. Only when stuck in traffic with a temp over 100 degrees F. Usually try to avoid that as it is worse on me than the Max. :biglaugh:
