Hi
I am a fairly new member from pa. I have owned my 89 max since it was new. I fell in love with them the year they came out. I had kept it stock for many years but have done a bunch of mods the last few years. I have been playing with and racing various cars trucks and bikes over the years and learned it helps to have access to as much information as possible. I am hoping to be able to find as well as share new ideas and information on the site.

Hello newbie

I just bought a super cheap 1990 V-Max. It runs, but it's not pretty. I only want it's engine anyway. I'm fabricating a trellis frame and I've got a complete ZX-14 front end, swingarm, shock and rear wheel waiting for it. Having fun converting it to chain drive now. V-Max-powered ZX-14 with a Ducati Diavel frame is the idea. Not spending a lot on it - doing all of the work myself. Except for the chain drive, it's just a little welding and some parts off of e-bay, really.

Hello newbie post some pictures step by step.

Hiya Boyes! I just joined the forum last night(got ok'd today) but I just recently got my grubby little paws on an 85 vmax and it is AWESOME! I am, however curious about the colors. Mine has the Burgundy paint with the Gold plastics, and I have searched everywhere to find out if it's some sort of special edition or what!? I just want to know if I should replace them with something different , or , if it's a limited edition- keep the mexi-gold.
Anyways, glad to join the ranks of awesomeness! and any info would be great.

Welcome burgold, personally haven't heard of a gold edition. You should post some pics so we can get a look at the beast :punk: Sandy is a beautiful place. I've seen some pics of the area.

Sounds like fun. It is a few hour trip for me but I do have a few friends I think I could talk into riding out with me.

I have a 99 vmax all stock with a few cosmetic mods. I'm interested in getting an aftermarket exhaust but not sure where to start. Any comments/ suggestions?

Welcome to the forum.

Its basically agreed on that the kerker 4-1 makes the best HP, but some people dont like the fact that the exhaust is only on 1 side, and it makes the bike lopsided.

There is marks 4-1...or 4-2....and it is very popular.

There is ufo 4-2....good HP but LOUD!!!!

and UFO makes others than just the quadzilla...one thing that they all share in common....LOUD

VOODOO is the company behind ufo...so you can go thru them and possibly save some money if you want.

Here is some modified exhaust that Sean sells (one2dmax)

Cobra sells an exhaust.....good sound...but kills HP

After that...there are various slip ons...kerker...super traps...etc.

It all depends on what you like...and what your wallet will allow.

Hey!? I am rebuilding my carbs on my vmax and was wondering if anyone knows if theres a float level measurement I can do without a fuel level gauge?, or can I make a homemade one, or is it just easier to just buy one? I haven't been able to find info on a float measurement except using a fuel level gauge- Keep in mind, VMAX, holidays, I'M BROKE!! haha. Thanks for any info, first vmax, looking for ANY info!
