My front brake M/C looks like crap (and its full of it too):

Clutch M/C looks the same. What I'd like to do is bead blast the outside casing and powder coat it. I'm wondering about the best way to clean it up in prep for coating. There is sludge buildup inside the reservoir. Can I flush the thing with hot water, or with a solvent of some kind? If I bead blast the casing do I need to plug certain holes first? Anything in particular to think about? Thanks a lot

Just go down to the auto store and get yourself some "brake cleaner" in a spray can. Use some gloves and some safety glasses! It might take some Q tips to get into the corners, the stuff is awesome. On the powder coating . If you goto a reliable shop they will blast all the coating off anyway. Also they should use precautions to plug any holes...
