Hi
i m from France
I ve recently bought a Factory Pro jet kit for my V max (ref Y11-1.1 ti), and have some difficulties to adjust it.
It s an European 2000 V max with :

Main jet : 152.5 was 150

Pilot jet 1: 90 was 95

pilot jet : 37.5 was 42.5

needle clip position: #3
fuel screw : 3.5 turns out was 3 turns out

K&N air filter
stock exhaust
Fuel level : 34 mm or 16 mm fuel level

Elevation :70 meters
humidity : unknown

here s what i feel riding my bike

- idle and low speed cruising seems ok

- If full throttle at less than 2000 rpm (2nd gear or above same problem), the bike accelerate hardly and then better above 2000 rpm

- from 3500 to 5000 rpm steady state, if full throttle to accelerate, has dry or wet spot (don t know how to make the difference) for a fraction of a second and then pulls

- above 5000 to redline, no problems

It seems that those problems get worse as engine heat up ( not very sure), and finally I ve noticed the front right exhaust pipe is a lot more hot the 3 others

The bike was "tuned" during 4 hours by a "professional" but works better since I tried by myself to find the Best adjustment.

I am so disapointed and lost, that I m thinking going back to original carbs adjustments

But I m sure you ll help me to find the Best adjustment

Kind regards

Philippe

hi Shawn
carb sync already done
and concerning the needles you mean clip position #4 ?
thanks for your help

If you're counting from the bottom of the needle upwards, then yes, #4.
You want to lower the needles because it sounds like you're too rich.

I think F.P. setup is going to be WAY too rich for stock exhaust.

Put the stock needles back in and go riding and you should notice a huge improvement!

hi
my bike come back from my mechanics
he puts back the stock needles synch the carbs again
and turns out 2 turns the mixture screws
so now works well but the idle is not very stable
the tacho needle sometimes moves up to 1200rpm and then go back to set idle
and when i lightly blipped the throttle the rpm go up to 1500 rpm for example stay there for half a second and then go back slowly to set idle
any idea to fix this ?
finally i don t see any gain to factory pro kit
and their support service don t even answer my help request, so i would not recommend this at all to my friends here at French vmax club !!
thanks for your help
best regards
Philippe

Philippe, your idle mixture is lean...2 turns is probably not enough. Look at the Sticky in the Carbs section and it'll explain how to set your mixture screws properly.
