I quoted from this months issue of Motor Cyclist, from the "UP TO SPEED" section on page 16, the article is titled "Monster Max". It's a 1/2 page story that also states that Ducati is not confirming the bike "officially" yet. International press officer stated "I can't say anything about it at the moment, but in the next few weeks and months you will find out, as usual, about Ducati's range for the next year."
Here's another version, apparently a artists renderings:

According to a Duc Monster forum I visit, the above picture is a version of the 'Streetfighter' concept released quite awhile ago. One of the posts there stated that Ducati was looking into a 'muscle cruiser' recently, but has since shelved the idea indefinitely.

The Ducati 1100 Streetfighter is in showrooms NOW. I have seen one over the weekend at the Dealership in Little Rock (AR) It looked pretty good! They advertised 155hp, and 372lbs wet. Better bring your "A" game when going up against one, or you will be looking at the taillight.

Can't be too confident...that always leads to failure. Considering the Gen1 has been out for 24 years and other manufacturers are finally catching up, it really shows what a legend the Max is. We'll see how long it takes for something to equal the Gen2.

With 155hp and not even 400lbs, you better hope whoever's riding it doesn't know how to haul ass on it. Stock to stock with competent riders on both bikes it looks like the duck would win against a Gen1. Also with chain drive, it won't have the massive loss of RWHP that any shaft drive is plagued with.

But more often than not at least at stoplight drags it comes down to rider skill over bike specs. Most of the time when I get "asked" to race it's either by some squid on his brand new crotch rocket, or some guy on a Sportster that thinks he's all that. Of course I'm willing to comply with a v-boost powered ass-whoopin. I also have a Avon tire that peels out all over the place, and the Venture drive.

Here's another pic of the Ducati...finally got around to scanning it:

That it! I like the way it looks and you can really tell it took it's styling cue from the Vmax. It will never replace the Vmax though it'd be a helluva machine if they were to build it.

interesting for sure, so thats nice if they wanna get into cruising markets they gotta use the max as a bench mark:punk: gotta love that. any specs our Italian cousin?

Just bought a 2002 with 2100 miles. Up to 2900 now, in ten days. I got a good one from my "specialist" (co-worker). She came in and said "That bike looks MEAN; I've been singing 'Leader of the Pack' since I saw it"
