Anyone have any knowledge whether a 2005 750 GSXR frond can support the Vmax and can it be readily adapted to our head tube bearing cups? I got a line on one reasonable and clean and want to give it a try. Any advice or real world experience is appreciated. Thanks, PATMAX

you unleashed a lion...

Anything can be done with enough patience, skill and money. If R1 forks handle the vmax weight the GSXR will do as well. you will only be able to use the forks, the triples won't work even if you can apply the vmax stem. The offset on sport bikes trees is so low that you'll loose steering. Proper way to do is to have a set of triples made for those forks, if you replace the forks i'd suggest you keep teh GSXR front wheel as well so you can just swap the whole front, don't do like me that i have R1 forks with suzuki rim and speedo cable and kawasaki rotors...

+1 and they are shorter 3-4 " , and meant for a 360 lb. dry race bike. You might want to give Race Tech a call and ask for their recommendations for a 580 lb. bike + rider weight .

+1. Also If you want to save even more money find a local machine shop they can make the tripples for you. All you have to do is give them your old ones and tell them to make them match the width of the gsxr tripples. You can reuse your original stem. They may not come out as pretty but you will save a ton of cash. Look at my pictures I paid $300 for upper and lower. It took me good few months to find a guy locally but it was worth it.

Bare in mind vmax rake is wayyyy diferent from GSXR, so suspension geometry will be different as well. Im running standard R1 forks lengthened 40mm with no prob, but my bike is not setup for performance i might add...

Well, from you guys comments, sounds like I'm barking up the wrong tree with this mod. I was sorta hoping there was a bearing set up that would fit the GSXR and Yamaha head tube. Nothing can be easy can it ? Or should I say cheap! Well, guess I got a front end to sell...

yes it should. with custom triple trees. you can use the triple trees of gsxr but you will have oone problem in the end of lefy and right of your steering it may touches your water freeze. + you will need extensions so you keep the bike in a hight, posted some pics of mine when i bought with the old coo extensions and some news with new extendions
