Hi all:

I know this is an idiotic question, but sadly, that's the way I roll...

I've received some rubber caliper seals for rebuilding my R1 Blue Spot brake calipers, and each set of seals comes with a little clear packet of a purplish/pinkish goo.

Is that a grease, or a type of adhesive, or something else?

Thanks.

It's grease....I rub a little on the seals before installing them in the grooves it helps the pistons slide in easier.

Consider it assembly lube. You probably only need 1 pack.
Make sure you scrape all the shit out of the grooves where the seals go! There will be oxidised aluminium in there.
It's more important than replacing the seals.
