I had that same lift. was that extensions supposed to come with it or was it just really short for some reason? I don't see how without the extension it was supposed to hold any type of 2 wheel vehicle.

Pat, I see you're going w/forward controls and some sort of dogbone risers for the handlebars? And is that some-sort of a combined aftermarket instrument to the left of the risers? The color red is going to be a prominent accent, I see. I once thought of doing a silver tank/airbox cover, red frame, and silver swingarm, w/some-other contrasting color, nothing neon or too-bright, more of a subtle difference. Oh, and chrome engine side covers. I'd like to see something photoshopped like that. I don't know what color would look best w/the frame side covers, I think the natural aluminum might look good and I have a pair of near-perfect '85 embossed frame side covers just-waiting.

I will remind you about the Sunrise show, it's usually thousands of bikes which leave from a site 10 miles-away or thereabouts, and the FHP stops traffic so the riders can ride together from the start to the county park. I've never done it, but it looks like fun. I do just show-up on my bike a bit later in the day, and enjoy the people-watching, and the machines. They have a car & bike show, and some good rock & rollers from 'way-back. I think some of the members of Iron Butterfly, Pat Travers band, one of Jeff Beck's bands, and maybe Kid Rock at one point or another have played there.

Tim, if you went down the Turnpike, probably 45 minutes from your door. You could go US 27 too. Head east a bit on I-595 in Broward Co. & you're there. I think it's I-75 that may run w/US-27 at that point. I'd have to check a map. It's easy to get to, just remember that from the east on I-595 the morning of the run, they shut down I-95 and I-595 from wherever they start, heading to Markham Park in Sunrise. If you time it so you get there say at noon, I think they may lift the barriers by then. It's done by BSO (Broward Sheriff's Office) & other local LEO's. Check the website for where the parade starts, they usually begin about 9 am & it lasts for 2-3 hrs.

Last year on the way home I had one of those 300 mm rear tire, big motor H-D's try to show me what "real performance" was. I drubbed him so-badly every time he tried to wring its throttle, he turned off instead of being spanked once again. He had all the safety accessories: backwards baseball straight-brim cap, Ray Bans, black t-shirt, and plenty of "heels-thrust-forward on the pegs" attitude. Twenty year-old Yamaha cruiser technology beats $40,000 of v-twin ego-stroker again!

i I WILL BE THERE !.... :punk:

Dude your bike is fuckin awesome.
What kind of shocks are in the rear and how much is it lowered?

Mark ham Park is where I go for my R/C airplane events and is a great venue for this event. I will not be able to make it due to scheduling conflicts.
Bummed because I could use a long ride on the Maxgasser.
I know you guys will have fun. I hope someone can get an impromptu ride organized while you guys are there. Remember it gets dark early now!

Markham Park also has a firing range that is open to the public. They have camping and mountain bike trails, I used to race there when I was a 'bit-younger,' on my Klein I bought the year before I bought my VMax, 1993.

Hopefully, the weather will cooperate.

A word about arrival: if you are planning to be there before noon, I suggest coming NOT I-595 or I-95, as they shut-down those roads for maybe 3 hrs while the Sheriff's Office gives the thousands of bikers an escorted ride from the start. See below for start of parade route info. Going out to US-27 and heading east to Markham Park is probably the way to approach the park before 1 pm, when they say they expect the road restrictions/roadblocks lifted. Use google Maps and see that you will have to head SOUTH of I-595 on US-27 until you get to Recreation Rd. on the EAST SIDE of US-27. This will head north, then turn east and will become State Rd. 84 heading east towards Markham Park and Weston Rd. Weston Rd. is the north-south road which crosses under I-595 and directly enters Markham Park.

OK, I just checked, the start is from the south, in Hallandale Beach. That means they will likely come north on I-95 from Pembroke Rd. in Hallandale Beach/Hollywood to I-595 West and then at about SW132 Ave exit for I-595, they will merge onto State Rd. 84 for about a mile to the entrance to Markham Park. That means, if you tried to get there (Markham Park) along west-bound State Rd. 84 from I-95 if you were coming from the north, (I-595 and State Rd. 84 run parallel to each other from I-95 heading west) when the parade traffic exits I-595 at SW 132 Ave, which is very-close to Markham Park, you would face a traffic diversion and would not be allowed (most-likely) to proceed west on State Rd. 84 at the SW 132 Ave/I-595 exit until they lifted the barricades. That's why I suggested coming east from US-27 to Markham Park. The entrance to Markham Park is also known as Weston Rd. to the south. What I don't know, is how-long they restrict any traffic coming north on say, Weston Rd. or traffic from the west, to be able to turn left into Markham Park once you get onto a surface street.

I suggest you google Map the intersection and the route and ID the streets so you can see what I am describing. You can also try calling the FL Highway Patrol (Coprunner, use a pseudonym) or look up for info on their website. FYI, the parade route once it exits I-595 goes right-by their local barracks, just before the ride ends at Markham Park. http://www.flhsmv.gov/fhp/
FHP has a traffic accident and mapping section on the website homepage, "Live traffic crash and road condition report," which you can use to map the route.

http://www.toysinthesunrun.com/general_info.htm
"Traffic will be diverted for the parade from 9:45am until approximately 1pm."

That means, if you are coming from the north, you can probably come south to either I-95/Davie Blvd. exit in Ft. Lauderdale, or possibly all the way to State Rd. 84, and then head west on State Rd. 84, or Davie Blvd. I think that when you get to SW 132 Ave on State Rd. 84, you will encounter a barricade for the parade of bikes to pass uninterrupted.

The alternative is to just wait until about 1 pm and by then the routes are expected to open to normal traffic flow. That's what I have done in the past, and I live in the region. I don't think you will miss anything if you get there around 1 pm, 4 or 5 hours should let you see all there is to see. You might want to bring something to sit on, as the area where the events are is a big open field, or in stands of trees (the latter is where they usually have the bike and car show). There is plenty to eat and drink including alcohol, easy on that last one!
