Ok took the wifey tonight for a run. I got better mileage with her on back, didn't hit the Vboost once. I'm at 84 miles now and no light yet which seems to be the way it was when I was a noob on her about 2 months ago. Gotta be the way I'm driving it. I mean.. I kinda treat every stoplight like a tree at the drag strip.... ;)

I got back from a poker run (yesterday) with mostly harleys, and we probably averaged around 65 mph and my fuel light came on a 126 miles!!!! I am running Sean's jet kit and have my V-boost unplugged to the open position! I'm betting I'll be close to 40mpg if not a little better.

So you have vboost all the time and are getting that kind of mileage.... wow

Holy Crap,
How are you guys milking 40 mpg ? I have Supertrapps and K & N
airfilters. Winter lucky to hit 25 mpg, summer at freeway cruising
65mph to 70mph mid 30's.

My mileage went down when I was funning trapps. They tend to richen you up. After I put in 147.5 mains, re-sync'd I gained back some lost mileage.

Now with the Kerker 4-2-1 set up, I'm running 150 mains and the main needles are shimmed 40+ MPG is now quite common at 65-75 highway speeds with a few blurbs in the triple digits (Moose are starting to move around so those are getting further apart) and averaging about 35-37 mph around town.

Update... long ride with my harley buddies 42 mpg.:confused2: who would have thought riding slower gets you better gass milage lol.

LOL!! Got me there 'cruzer'!! I was gettin' ready to sneak in your garage at night to see what set-up you have!! :rofl_200:
No need to sneak... I had Sean M and Mario A help with jetting and a UFO 4-2-2. The rest is stock. I did have the venture rear for a while to help lower the RPM's but after installing the bigger tank I sold it to get my low end back. I lucked out on that thing too, got it for $5. No way I could aford a new one from MEK @ $600 +. I happend across a guy selling his max with one and offered to trade my stocker plus some cash, he did one better and said I could have it wthout trade since it was out, but it had a hole in it and couldn't find a way to seal it. I sent it to a guy in utah that specialises in vulcanized poly welding and he stiched it up for me for $75. so for $80 bucks I got a deal. And distance to keep up with the sport bikes.

The head light assembly? Its called the cybermax by Exactrep. Kinda spendy, but once again I scored mine off of ebay fairly cheap and had it chromed.

I have a list a mile long on the mods Ive done. I think I'm nearing the end though.

Geez that looks like the face of a fraking cylon lol. From Battlestar Galactica. I like it.

I think most (not all) people with my jet kits get great power range as well as 38+ mpg (many reporting well into the 40's).

I'm getting 36 in town and 43 0n the run keeping it between 70-75. I think I was one of the first to install your kit and I love it. In fact...I love you Sean!!:worthy:

Yesterday was my best ever. Just recently removed a shim from my needles and hit the open road. Nice stready cruizin 70 mph avg. with some high speed blasts and a few stops too. 41.6 MPG. Even took snap shots of the odometer and fuel pumps for proof!

Just a minute here.....the angle of the sun is a good 19 degrees 27 minutes different in the two pictures!! Plus, that looks like an early model Venture speedo, and unless I'm mistaken there are signs of Photo-Shop manipulations around the gallons meter on the pump!! :ummm:

:rofl_200:Seriously, Mike...congratulations, you hit the big 40!! PLUS!

I removed a shim yesterday also, no mileage run yet but the testing was very favorable.

Exactly how do you remove a shim from the needles... and what does it do.
