Always!!!! Got a question, i need to get the tank off to get to my ecu to send off. I found the two screws under the seat but i'm really lost on how to get it off. The gen 1 was cake! I just don't want to hurt anything trying to get it off.

Please someone make a video on getting tank off!!!!

You need a 4mm allen and a 5mm allen. At the front behind the forks are 2 5mm bolts, 1 4mm bolt for the cowl and 4 4mm below the cowl and 2 4mm at the back.

Ok, i'm soo close to pulling the trigger on the gurued gear. but after reading all of the disclaimer...

http://guruedgear.com/images/GG_DISCLAIMER%20GG_DISCLAIMER%20AND%20ROL%20and%20QnA.pdf

This will not be track drivin, i want to know if anyone has had issues being a daily or weekend driver. I know legally i should not be driving it on the highways or local roads but i want to make sure that i will have no issues for a long time.

I am a beta tester for Guru stuff...
I have riden my GEN II for over 18,000 miles daily ZERO ISSUES
There are about six GenII's local that run the flashes and none have ever had a problem
Better milage, more power, smoother running... Plus I just spanked a 2010 Stretched Busa last night on a 60 mph roll on up to 130 +... It makes the GENII with in reason almost unbeatable without substantial mods on other bikes on the street.... almost..

I wouldn’t worry about functionality. There are thousands of riding hours on Tim’s flash. I spoke to a service professional about warranties and how they relate to changing ECU code. He said that a re-flash could be considered a breach of warranty. He also said that the likelihood of a warranty void is slim as long as there are no markings on the ECU that imply a re-flash. Even if a re-flash is apparent, it’s up to the shop/technician to report it to the manufacturer/warranty issuer. He said some shops are real sticklers, but most are not. It just depends on the shop.

got the vance and hine cs one 4-2 818.50 shipped to the door.

reflash from guruedgear.com

k/n flat filter i haven't modified the air box yet. i was watching how to get the restrictor off from in the airbox. To remove the air box i just get all screws from around the airbox and it will come right out?

Correct. There are two lids. The restricter is on #6.

Medicine,

After reading that I would not touch the product.

I buy my my cycles to ride and enjoy, have peace of mind that it is the best bike for my needs and wants and that is why I bought it. To then turn around and put myself in a precarious position as outlined in the disclaimer would show very poor judgement, and for what, 1/4 second less in the quarter?

Forget it.:rofl_200:

Just ride your 177 hp bike and enjoy!!

Congrats on the new Max....you are going to love it!

Sounds like your tuner may not have any experience with the Gen2.

The first thing I would recommend would be an exhaust system. The cat converter robs around 10 - 15 hp. There are quite a few to chose from.

As far as the Big/Monster Air Intake....it should not be used with the stock exhaust at all. It will seriously hurt the bottom end power. Even with a good pipe there is still a noticeable loss on the bottom vs the same pipe and std. air-box, but it will make more power on the top end.

I would also recommend against a PCV. A much better investment would be a ECU re-flash form GuruedGear.com. This will take care of all of the fuel tuning, remove the bog off idle, and improve all around driveablity.

All of this can be done for less than $1500.....and you will be making at least 185 RWHP. And you won't stop smiling every time you ride it!

Mark

So what do you think of the bike now with the mods? I'm sure it woke it up quite a bit!

I wouldn't worry about it, it looks like the standard disclaimer.
Especially this part
GURUED GEAR will be used solely for closed-course, competition purposes only.
I've heard quite a few testimonials on the Nash flash, and they've been all good on how the power is distributed in a more predictable linear fashion and how well behaved the bike is on the street.

A lot of dealers, and customisers use it. It basically covers them from people who beef up their bike using their parts then wreck it cause it's now too much bike for them. It keeps the legal down by eliminating the "if I didn't use your products, my bike would have been slower and thus I wound't have gotten hurt" accusation.

Another vendor site says, that if you use the Nash flash, your warranty will be gone. But, left out the part where if you pull the cat off and install their products, depending on how cool your dealer is, your warranty will most likely go away.

A ton of parts are being sold that carry that type of warning/disclaimers, I found that is not indicative of a bad product. For instance, Nitrous systems, Carb kits, Exhaust systems, etc.. I've even seen that disclaimer on air filters.

Here are a couple;
  • All Holeshot Performance Products are intended for closed course racing purposes only, never to be used on any road or highway anywhere in the world.
  • All parts sold by MPS are for off road closed course use. They are not intended for use on public streets or highways.
  • and this one talking about a Yosh, slip-on pipe; For Closed Course Competition Use Only. Not Intended for Street Use.
  • and this one is for an airfilter; For Closed Course Competition Use Only. Not Intended for Street Use. both the slip-on and the air filter are from yosh's site.

LOVE it. just have to be careful now not to go 100+++ everywhere. It starts to kick in earlier, like 3250 instead of 4250. Overall performance has increased probably got another 25-30 hp. will put on the dyno ASAP. I did have an exhaust leak from the front left header pipe. the gasket was BLACK!! which is fixed now and i have 2 more gaskets just in case. Over all after spending 2000 on performance ( install included) Was it worth it???

FUCK YES! :eusa_dance::eusa_dance::eusa_dance:

This machine will DESTORY ANYTHING on the road. Raced a 2012 skyline GTR.... he had NO chance. :punk:

Very nice. Now you need to get rid of those stock mirrors (I had to anyway because it drove me nuts that I couldn't see behind me no matter how I adjusted them). :biglaugh:

Have you decided what shield you're going with yet? (I'm sal70lemans on the Star forum.)
