first impressions.

seat is not so bad....at least 4 now

front brakes need improvement. rear is fine.

what an awesome sounding engine!!!!:punk::punk:

handles better than i thought it would.

very little driveline lash....

nice shifting tranny!!!!

im in love!!!!!! let the mod ness begin.....:rofl_200:

did i say AWESOME ENGINE!!! JEEEESUS!!!!:punk:

The seats fine for some but anything over 40 miles and I was dying to jump off her. Sean Morley's seats aren't only more comfy but they're also WAY better looking IMO.

Nothing better than the thrill of a
new bike.
Damn, smells like victory ! :punk:

On the brake thing, I have a 1989 aren't the fronts
and backs the same # ? I just found a place called
FastCycleParts.com that sales the EBC #Fa88hH's
for $27.75. Sound like a good price is Mondak
cheaper ?

Grats on the new purchase and welcome to THE forum for the Vmax. The handling isn't as bad as some will make out, BUT it is a 600 lb bike with bias ply tires (you can get better than stock rubber, don't worry) and the suspension needs to be tuned up to work properly, so take it easy until you understand it's personality.
My seat need to recovered when I bought it, but I rode it the first summer and found that stock really didn't work for me. Yeah, sure there were times I run a through full tank and not be sore, but then other times 60 miles and I wanted off the torture device. Sean hooked me up with a great seat and I haven't looked back.
The mod monkey definatly likes new owners with some extra cash and even some that don't have cash too. There is rumored to be a mod gorilla, I have seen his handiwork on Jim's Snowmax in person, so just beware! :biglaugh:

Can I be the first one to give it a stress test to make sure all the rod bearings are good in it?

Welcome, Mr. Maxx! Yeah, the stock seat gets a little uncomfortable on a long ride, you'll see. Enjoy your new bike!
