Should I put light coat of grease on rear axle when replaceing rear tire? It had some on there and i cleaned it off.

I've always put a little bit of marine grade I have left over from my old boat on the axles when putting them back in on all my bikes.

I do the same. I coat them incase water gets in there... If anything it makes removal super simple.
