Spark on one side of engine

long story short i haVE AN 05 motor in an 85 frame. Switched the pickup assembly so the plugs would snap into eachother. but now i either have spark on the right side of my engine or i can plug it into the other side of the coil and i have spark on the left side of the engine. any ideas on what could be causing this? maybe wires hooked up incorretly?

Me thinks not! Something about having to switch plugs around tells the tale.

His choices are:
Swap the harness and all the electricals (dang near all of them)

OR:
Swap the flywheel AND pickup from the 85 engine.

Yep. I will be swapping flywheel and stator

As noted, I might be interested in the 05 flywheel and pickup. The stator is the same so don't bother swapping that.

ok i was just gonna ask if i could use the same stator. Which i can so thats good. ONce i get this beast on the road and rolling i will sell you or trade the flywheeel+pickup for a good price. Im actually looking for a 05 crossbrace or whichever one has the bend in it to clear the oil filter.

We can probably work something out I am sure. I have a couple of the braces on hand.
