im teh youngest vmaxer of all time. does that mean im the most likely to crash and burn?? im 20 years old

it looks like our average age is 40. i saw quite a few in their 60s on the calendar.

Ha ha ha Ive been ridding dirt since I was 9 and by the time I was 16 I wanted a bike.By 17 I was bored with my Honda 750 Chop I built and wanted more power. Found out about the Max on the cover of a magazine and wanted the original, none of that crap where its all electrical and you cant work on it without a computer.

Got my Max 2 Octobers ago in a rough state and have been building it since.Never been afraid of "Cruise Missile" but wanna do a carb and cam swap to make her scoot a little better.

Been burnin gas in my blood since I was little, the Max kinda fell into place.
Got a couple pics of when I brought her home and now for refference.

Rode my first one at 18 (in 88). Borrowed it so much the owner (friend) told me to keep it at my house and when he wanted to ride it he would come over there and get it!

I guess I get second place, I turned 19 last September.

Bought my zuki GS450 the spring after I turned 16, rode that for like 2 months then got bored with it, and bought the Magna that summer. Rode that until about halfway through this past summer when I upgraded to the Max.

Crotch rockets never appealed to me. Too uncomfortable, and the insurance would have been insane. Plus, I'd rather cruise than be able to go 160mph at the drop of a hat. Which doesn't mean I don't like to go fast, so that's how I settled on the Max as a good balance. Posture and (almost) cruiser comfort(at least for me at only 5'8"), yet it's the fastest "cruiser" around. Gotta love that feeling that doing 70 is effortless for the engine, and you're only at 1/8th throttle, and 100+ is only about a sec or two away.

How do I rate?

Yamaha didn't even release a Vmax until I was 24, and I took possession of one in the first release, early March 1985. #751 or so as I recall. I bought the second 1985 still new in the crate in 1987 after some 15yr old chick turned left in front of me on the first one. I still ride that 2nd Vmax to this day.

I guess I've been a Vmax owner as long as anyone could be, even though many have surpassed me in total miles ridden.
