Under 1000RPM idle speed BAD? Low/no oil pressure??

Hey I read its bad to set the idle under 1000rpm for fear of low/no oil pressure, so I've been keeping her at 1050-1150rpm... Any definitive answers to that one? Is it bad to let the rpms fall below 1000rpm?

    normal oil pressure?

Ok I did a search and came up with nothing. So I installed a oil pressure gauge on my 1986 vmax. And here is what I am reading. At idle and warmed up I get 5 to 7 psi , 3k I get about 23 to 25 , and at 4k I get 35 to 40. If I get on it goes up to 65 or 70 psi. Does this sound right to you guys...

Should the pressure be checked with the bike on the centerstand or with the weight of the bike standing up on the wheels? I get about 5.X PSI in both forks with the centerstand supporting the bike (right around the min pressure according to the Haynes manual) and right around 10.X with the...

low oil pressure fix, need some part numbers please

Hi guys, I've been reading a lot about the potential low oil pressure associated with that 'o' ring pushing out the siphon in the fuel pump. I've heard two stories on this: The first is that this is a result of not letting the bike warm up enought before riding it hard The other thing I...
