    Resistance for Spark Plug Wires

I'm getting readings from 8.66k ohms to 9.25k ohms for the plug wires. Any one know what's acceptable? I've read aprox. 1000 ohms per foot and these are about a foot. Original 7 year old wires I believe and I have some new ones on order. Thanks,Mike

    Battery Reinstall, No Spark?

Yesterday, I pulled a bonehead maneuver and accidentally left my key in the on position while eating at a pizza shop down the street. I was there about an hour and a half, and during this time my Odyssey PC680 battery ran down. I had my brother help me push start the Max, which was surprisingly...

Well thanks to everybody's help, I got a lot replaced (coolant, oil, gear oil, fuel filter) I guess the last thing on the list is the spark plugs. What do I have to take off / do to get those things off? You can obviously see them but accessing them looks like a different story... Would...

Will replacing the spark plugs increase power output or is it just a hype? What about if I replaced the spark plugs and wires with aftermarket performance ones? Thanks, Jaymel

    Spark Plug Inspection

Inspected the spark plugs today. Left front and back were dry, light brown, looked like they were burning good. Right back was slightly wet, a little darker brown. Right front was less wet than the back right, and little lighter color, but not the clean burn of the left side. I have been told...

    Weak spark / missing fire?

Greetings: 88 VMX pretty much stock except for exhaust and K&N filter. Pulled the carbs out and went through them completely. While they were out, I used DeOxit and dielectric grease on all the connectors. Put everything back together, started it up and it ran at idle although one cylinder...

Popping front right cylinder when cold but dark spark plug

Hi, When my max is cold, the front right cylinder backfires a couple of times when I drive off with the choke opened just a little. With the choke open full the popping is gone, so you would expect the cylinder runs lean. But here`s the funny bit: The spark plugs of the other three cylinders...

    Alternative spark plug

I've always used NGK Iridium & love their performance & long life, I also used Bosch Silber (silver center electrode) & found them comparable to Iridiums in performance at a fraction of the cost, they are the same heat range as stock NGK spark plugs. Part # = XR4CS Bosch Silber

New Spark Plugs...mis-firing at 4k rpms now

I just took my spark plugs out of my bike and took one to the auto parts store. They replaced them with the same ones. The old ones were GNARLY...pretty black on the tip, and rusty at the top where you put the wrench. It seemed to idle a little better, but when I get up to 4,000 RPMs, the...
