Charging Problems???

I am having some sort of charging problems. Had stator and rectifier replaced by mechanic now charges at 13.6 at idle but when I rev it up to 5,000 rpm and check it with voltmeter it drops to 12 or below. When I take it for short rides it runs ok at first but it then runs worse and worse while it runs the battery low. It feels like it is loading up during this also. Any help would be awesome! Thanks.

It could be a bad battery or ground. If you have a stock battery check the water level. You can remove and take to Walmart...I believe they test them for free. Check clean your R/R, engine and frame grounds. Engine ground is near oil fill cap and frame ground is on right side just above fuel pump.

Have a go here....this will help you test your entire charging system.

Sounds like a bum conductor from here, failure when warm is a pretty good indicator. Go through your system checking connections and conductor condition.
