I don't conceal carry yet, due to the fact that I live in a good area and don't really travel to any "bad" areas. That being said, I do have a large collection of guns at the house and if anyone breaks in they will get to see them all!!

Ok not cmpletely up to date on my hand guns but I have a guy wanting to trade me a Colt 1927 a nice holster 2 extra set of hand grips one rose wood & one mahogany & 300 plus rounds for this old FJ 1100 I have stuffed off in the corner which I have 500 bucks tied up in please help me. I like the gun but he tells me the sight are messed up to.

Pretty much always.carry my Browning HP 40 SW in a bianci 100 iswb with 180 hydrashocks. Carried my Glock 20 10MM with a friends holster & 135grn CorBons for a while. Just put a bobtail on a fullsize 1911 and will carry it once I've put a serious round count thru it. My wife threw a shit fit first time she saw me load up before we went out. I told her the permit was pretty much useless without a gun to go with it. During the argument she asked why I thought I needed to carry, I told her"because I'll kill anyone that tries to hurt you." That shut her up

My Wife was satisfied with me carrying. That lasted for years, then some Ass Hole followed her all the way home from work and stopped in the street just off the driveway. That was about 1 AM. I was there behind a tree and started walking straight at his truck. That ended this story but the next day she said she was getting her Concealed Carry Permit. She was in the next available class, electronically filed her finger prints and submitted the paperwork. 3 weeks after the incident she had her permit back. That's the fastest I've ever heard of anyone getting theirs. 17 days to process the paperwork and get it out and in her hands.

Wow,17days is fast? It's usually 3 from the time I go to the sheriff's office and pay my renewal fee to pulling the new permit out of the mailbox. Iowa finally passed a shall issue law so now we'll be good for five years instead of renewing every year.

In NY State it will take about 6 months....complete background check and investigation.....valid for life unless revoked.....

NOT valid in the 5 boroughs of New York City unless endorsed by Chief of NYPD....

So I can't carry it in the only place I would REALLY want to.....makes sense don't it???:ummm:

Everyone we knew who took the class at the same time she did took 2 to 3 months to get theirs. People were trying to hire her to process their paperwork. She smiled at all of them and passed.:rofl_200:

I normally pack a little 22 auto or a 9, pt111. Depends if I'm on my bike. The 22 will fit just right under the flip seat. If I knew 'risks' around would be higher, I'd pack a 1911 or a cz52. I'd never have a 25 for defense. Like I heard, shoot someone with a 25, then a surgeon will be pulling it out of your butt in the near future.

I beg to differ, reading that a 357, 9 and 45 acp were about identical. The acp has knock down power, like the 40. The 357 has shock power, as well as tearing things up. The 9 doesn't hold a candle to either, although it'll kill, too. The 40, for economy, pounds, speed and range, seems to be the best way to go.

Regardless of the caliber, find a gun that is comfortable to carry all of the time and do that.

Better to have a small .22 on your hip than have a .45acp sitting at home in your gun safe.

Hey, a 22's a hell of a lot better than the 25. I read a story years ago that a woman grabbed her 25 in the middle of the night, thinking it was nasal spray. She put the barrel up to her nose and pulled off a round. She lost some sleep and the Adrenalin cleared up her sinus problem. That was the only effect it had.:rofl_200::biglaugh::rofl_200:I believe she sneezed the bullet back out......

Hmmm, sounds like complete bs for a few reasons, 1. Use nasal spray everyday, twice a day and it does't feel anything like a gun not even my jenning s22, 2. never head nasal spray go bang. 3. There is some pretty soft tissue, even a blunt pen being pushed by hand will cause major damage. 4. The flash of unburnt powder from a tiny barreled gun would realy f u up in there.
