I knew my middle seat was damaged when I bought the bike but I finally got around to peeling the cover off today.

It's pretty much destroyed. I could probably patch it back together or is it worth spending the $$$ on a relatively pricey used one?

Later, Doug

Damn, and I swear I ain't ever been anywhere near that bike.

I believe the seat pan is ABS. I've tried repairing abs with a soldering iron but not had any luck.

I've used abs glue and cleaner with good luck. Major repairs with thick glue takes days to dry. The repaired area can be shaped easily with a file and sandpaper.

Your flip section is pretty jacked. If you had a bunch of glue, cleaner, and some metal mesh you could try a repair. You would need to glue both sides and embed some mesh across the joints. Probably wouldn't work and take a long time. If you had to buy this stuff, I wouldn't bother. I'd put the money toward a replacement. If you had the materials and enjoy a challenge i'd give it a shot.
