Finally got the carb rebuild done on my 2004 Max. Before the rebuild the bike became a spitting sputtering mess. At start up max choke had to be used, and when warm 1/4 choke sometimes had to be used.It would pop back through the carb's until fully warm, and at times would feel like I was riding a Ninja 250 "Power wise" I bought Damon's carb video off of Ebay, and highly recommend it!

Here are some videos I took along the way,the first one is before removing the carb rack,if you listen close you can hear the carbs popping back.

The second video is the carbs rebuilt and installed on the bike but not synchronized yet.

Third is the carbs after Synchronizing, I used the cheap Motion Pro synchronizer and did not run into any of the problems I have read about online. Maybe I got one of the good ones,or maybe people who have problems have the carbs so out of wack it causes the fluid to get sucked out?

The last video is the bike all reassembled and a quick rev,the RPM no longer stay's up around 2000 or 3000 for a short time creating a automatic cruise control, "Scary as hell when it would happen"

Now it's time to move on to a real exhaust system instead of the modified stock exhaust!

I would like to thank everyone for the tech advise I have received from this site. This site is awesome!!:clapping:

Great Videos, Bring that camera to the upcoming Tech Day, Maybe get some exhaust clips of various exhaust systems... Cool...:biglaugh:

I don't know which bike I'll bring, Mark's 4-2 or Kerker 4-1...

Congrats on making it run so well too..

Nice job, she sounds great!

Not sure I'd be in a big hurry to replace that exhaust system....it sounds downright nasty to me, one of the best oem systems I've heard! :punk:

The video camera is my phone so I will defiantly have it with me if Captain Kyle lets me show up! The holes I drilled are just 3/8" I didnt go for the 1/2" holes everybody seems to like to drill. "Did about an 450 foot long burnout today rolling heavy on the throttle after shifting to second,so it seems to be running great!"

That price is great, "to bad it's a 100 mile round trip for me", I Map Quested it tonight in anticipation for the tech day. A local guy here in Brandon "Ron's Cycle supply" said he would do both tires, and R&R the wheels for 125.00. Does that sound about right?

For a shop thats probably about the going rate. I only charge $ 40 a wheel if there on the bike but I dont have the over head they have.
